Typically the date and time is setup and defined on the local target UPS. The time zone, NTP, and DST if applicable is set.
The NTP should be defined to poll every 8 hours and use an internal NTP Source. If an external source is being used insure you define two different ones and validate they are reachable and not blocked due to the 8 hour polling.
Once the target machine has been properly setup. Initiate a email test and validate it comes through and confirm the date & time are correct.
If your company uses any of the APC Smart Connect Cloud Portal Services. Insure all date and time parameters are also set and defined correctly for your region as outlined above.
Validate by inducing a fault on the target UPS and checking if the email generated is accurate.
