Wake On LAN (WOL) behind a Smart-UPS
Hello,
I have APC Smart-UPS SMT750I and an IBM System X Server installed behind it. I want to use Wake On LAN feature to boot up the server over the network. When the server is connected directly to the power outlet, there is no problem to wake it up. But when it is connected to the UPS, it can not to power on.

The UPS itself does not support Wake On LAN in any way. It sounds like you've maybe tried this when the UPS is still off? I'm not sure.
Can you clarify - do you have a UPS Network Management Card or a USB or serial connection to the UPS set up? You'll need to do one of these two things instead of wake on LAN I think to avoid problems.
Essentially, if the UPS needs to shutdown, it will gracefully shutdown your attached server via one of the methods I mentioned and once AC power is restored or the reboot cycle is complete, if your server's BIOS is set to last AC state, it will wake up with the UPS turns back on and starts outputting AC power again.
