If we add a new SYBT5 to our system, we will have that new 2018 SYBT5 mixed in with our eight (8) existing 2015 SYBT5s.
In general you should not mix different battery ages in parallel.
Does the SYBT5 intelligence understand that I am mixing different aged batteries... or will this likely result in us just prematurely burning out the new SYBT5 because as my old SYBT5s age, they will need more charging and the new one will get goose'd
Another idea was to put all existing 8 sybt5s in the XR frame and put the one new one in the main frame. .. thinking that it will charge the XR frame and main frame differently

Hi Bob
Whilst there is individual battery pack monitoring with the Symmetra, the battery packs whether in the UPS frame or an XR frame are all charged from the same DC bus and so there isn't any differing charge the old or new ones would receive, so as you have guessed the newer battery packs would be at a risk of a reduced life, depending on the health of the older batteries.
Regards
Matt
