Hello All,
I am upgrading the firmware on AP9640 cards using the NMC firmware utility software, I have done many cards as our company is installing smart UPS's in all our data closets. I now have had at least 3 different cards that have started the upgrade and then actually fail. the card is now stuck in BM and even after pressing the reset button and holding it for over 20 seconds it will not revert back to factory settings. How can I get these cards back?
thanks
Kevin

These steps apply to the AP9640 / 9641 NMC 3 as well. The NMC 3 simply has a more powerful processor to support current & higher (future) encryption.

When you log in and you see "BM" you have to type in "factory_reset". This will reset the card back to the way it came from the factory. Some cards may require you to enter "factory_reset_confirm" afterwards.
Also if the card is on the network. If the firmware did not upload correctly you may have to putty into the card and enable ftp. From there you can log into the card though ftp. Once logged in type "bin" the put c:\<location og the missing file\<the missing file name>.
Also note if the missing file it the ...aos.. file uploading that file will wipe out the ....sumx... file and you will need to upload that file though ftp as well. Both of these files can be found in the bin folder of the NMC utility directory.
