Unusual noise coming from 750XL after battery change

Hi

We just replaced a battery in a clients 750XL - but it won't start correctly. The unit comes on and goes into its test mode and starts clicking repeatedly. Eventually it turns itself off.

Is the unit fried? How long is the warranty on the housing? Can it be repaired?

hi,
just a couple of questions..

•is the green online LED blinking constantly while this is happening?

•do you have a serial or USB cable attached to the UPS?

•how long does the clicking occur for before it turns off?

•does it discharge the battery completely?

make to remove any communication cables, even if they are just attached and dangling and see if that resolves the issue. a faulty communication cable may to be blame.

There is nothing plugged into it and the battery is brand new.

The only light that is on is the green charge light (first light on the right.)

I have dealt with hundreds of UPS over the years - this sounds like the internal boards are fried. It clicks or twitches for about 5 minutes and then it shuts down. The client ignored the beeping for weeks and the only reason I noticed is that their server reboots once a day.

It could be the relays on the UPS clicking over from ONLINE to ON BATTERY repeatedly. Have you tried lowering the sensitivity on the unit? What is the incoming voltage measured as?

the sensitivity has been adjusted - same result.
