Unable to 'silent install' PowerChuteNetworkShutdown 2.0.0 on Macintosh OS

Hi All,

We have a Smart-UPS 3000XL with the NMC AP9719 successfully installed and working with the latest 3.5.5 firmware. We've successfully configured one Macintosh (OS X 10.3.9) as test Server "A", which does connect and shutdown per the selected Shutdown Events. Now we want to silent install this onto a test Server "B" (OS X 10.4.10). We've followed APC's directions but can't complete the installation.

While logged in as root, after typing this command (step 6, Page 6 of 10, see attached):
chris-powerbook:/usr/local root# sudo java -cp .:pcns200.jar:swingall.jar:util.jar load -q /pcns200_PPCdPrinter/silentInstall.ini

We get the following error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: load

Can anyone shed some light on how to solve this? We have 10 servers to install this, and were hoping to streamline this initial setup, as well as re-configurations as needed.

Well, I've decided to skip this silent install and try installing one by one, but copy the "m11.cfg" file from the pre-configured server to the newly installed server(s). It seems to work (so far) as long as I shutdown the PCNS services first, then overwrite the original m11.cfg file. The settings do transfer to the other server(s).

If anyone reads this and knows that this is NOT a good idea - please let me know! Otherwise, I hope this helps others looking for a workaround to the silent install.

Thanks for the reply - we're using:
java version "1.5.0_07"
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.5.0_07-164)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 1.5.0_07-87, mixed mode, sharing)

We gave up on the silent install, and we decided to just copy the m11.cfg file and it seems to be working.
