Unable to access PowerChute Setup Wizard after deploying OVA
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to deploy the PowerChute OVA on my vCenter, but I'm facing some issues I can not resolve.
My envoroment consists of:
- VMware vCenter Server: Version 7.0.3.00800 Build-Nummer: 20150588
- Hypervisor: VMware ESXi, 7.0.3, 20328353
I downloaded the latest PowerChute OVA (PowerChute Network Shutdown v4.4.3) from here, and deployed it in my virtual environment.
I can:
- ping the VM
- access it via virtual Console and via SSH (putty)
However I can NOT
- telent to ports 80, 443 or 6547
- access the setup wizard on https://<IP>:6547 (Network time out, webserver not responding)
I redeployed it, following the Step-by-Step-Video PCNS442-vCenter7.0.x.mp4, thinking maybe i missed something, but still no success.
However, if I log into the VM I get the following message:
"PowerChute Services are disabled due to invalid credentials. Please refer to the PowerChute User Guide for recovery procedures."
and I can confirm that the services are not running:
[root@localhost ~]# systemctl status PowerChute
● PowerChute.service - PowerChute Network Shutdown
Loaded: loaded (/etc/systemd/system/PowerChute.service; disabled; vendor preset: disabled)
Active: inactive (dead)
But I don't have any idea what went wrong and what to do next. Maybe someone here can help me?

Hi @Nepumukel
Thank you for reaching out to the SE Community, my name is Jon and I will assist you with this query. Apologies for the inconvenience this has caused.
Please see the FAQ article below for your perusal if you haven't seen it yet, I've asked one of our customers to follow this after deploying the OVA and it worked.
I suggest that you re-deploy the OVA and do not forget the credentials that you'll use and then access the VM if you are still unable to open the configuration wizard.
