Hello,
Before a couple of hours I bought a BX1400U(-GR) Back-UPS in order to connect a Win Server 2012 R2 machine. For Powerchute I connected it with a usb cable. The manual stated that I should install Powerchute Personal Edition but I could not find my OS in the drop down menu. As I was searching for other options I found out that my OS was in the drop down menu of Powerchute Business Edition, so I gave it a try. For my implementation installing Powerchute Agent was enough and such as, I only installed the Agent.
During the installation, the software did recognize my exact UPS model and connection mode (usb). However any time I browse the webpage, it says Uknown UPS model on the top right corner and Uknown Device above UPS Status. In Device manager, both drivers seem to be OK under Batteries (APC UPS) and HID (American Power Conversion USB UPS). Likewise in Services I can see APC PBE Agent which I even stopped/started some times along with restarting my Server.
Is there anything else I should try, or any mistake I made in order to make it functional?
Thank you in advance for your responses

Hi,
PowerChute Business Edition is designed to work with Smart-UPS not Back-UPS. PowerChute Personal Edition that is designed for Back-UPS but is not compatible with Server 2012. Your best option is to uninstall PowerChute and install APCUPSD. I have not tested this configuration but the understanding I have is APCUPSD will run on Server 2012 and communicate with the Back-UPS.

OK, I downloaded APCUPSD 3.14.13 and installed it. Problem did occurred though. Had to install the usb driver manually after the wizard installation. No hard time with that, and such as, I can now control my APC UPS.
Thank you again Bill for your time and reply,
Jimmy
