I'm working on a project and I need to be able to remotely monitor a handful of UPS's via a web interface. These UPS's will have network cards installed in them, and I'm having a tough time trying to find the software to do this, without forking over 3.5K plus for a standalone server to monitor the UPS's.
Any input? The UPS's are all APCs.

As Brad said there is lots of great SNMP monitoring tools out there, we do offer Data Centre Expert which can do more that just monitoring for APC devices but it might be out of your reach but there is also tools like Observium, Nagios, I believe that PRTG offers a version that's free for 25 devices but you'd need to check there website.

What do you call "remotely monitor"? ie, what do you want to see?
The network cards all support SNMP, and there is a *lot* of info available there. I feed that into Cacti for logging/graphing.
If you have a server near each UPS, an instance of apcupsd can monitor the UPS either directly (via serial/usb) or via the NMC which can be aggregated into a web interface (like the attached).
