Hello,
I have installed an UPS on a Windows Server 2003, the model Smart-UPS SC420.
When I received it I did a calibration which ended bad, the second calibration was successful.
Now this UPS is installed, the server shutdown randomly (every 1 or 2 weeks). When i do Self-Test the server shutdown.
I'm using the web configuration https://localhost:6547
Any idea to Fix this issue ?

Okay thanks a lot for the answer very useful !
Do you think the calibration that was made at the beginning could make this problem or not at all ?

this UPS outputs a step approximated sinewave and is meant for basic server type devices. if this is a high end server, it may not accept the step approximated sinewave when the UPS goes to battery. it also might not like the longer transfer to battery that this UPS has.
[this article|http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1493] goes into the difference a little bit about pure sinewave output and step approximated sinewave. some pieces of equipment cannot handle the step approximated sinewave.
i bring this up as the cause since it is shutting down the UPS anytime it goes to battery which is when the UPS outputs this step approximated sinewave and then experiences the transfer time to battery.
lastly, you'd also want to make sure you take a look at this: http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/8883
after reading, we might want to take a look at a Smart UPS that begins with SU, SUA, SMX/SMT or another type of UPS that outputs a pure sinewave and/or is sized properly.
