I've already searched through the discussion forum and am unable to find a close fit for our problem.
We're getting "UPS: The battery is not installed properly." SNMP alerts at about 2-minute intervals from our Smart-UPS 1500.
It's at a remote office and we've had local our local IT people confirm the connections and they reported back:
"Checked the UPS, the battery is install correctly and the replacing battery light is flashing."
The logs look like this:
01/12/2012 09:04:08 Environment: Restored the local network management interface-to-integrated Environmental Monitor Input T Sensor (FL 11 Int Sensor at 11TH FL IDF CLOSET) communication.
01/12/2012 09:03:06 UPS: The battery is not installed properly.
01/12/2012 09:03:06 UPS: Restored the local network management interface-to-UPS communication.
And the "About" information on the Admin Web Page looks like this:
About UPS
Model: Smart-UPS 1500
Serial Number: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Firmware Revision: 601.3.D
Manufacture Date: 07/17/07
Please advise on how to proceed.

can you provide the entire event.txt from the network management card? instructions here: http://nam-en.apc.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9321
i would like to know if a self test has been logged and passed since this time because this could be a false message. low battery voltage can also cause the UPS to think its battery is missing. can you provide that?
