Hi All,
I have APC 10,000 VA SMART UPS, to provide un interruptable power supply to the servers.
In the server room we have two DBs, DB1 and DB 2 ( Both are from different power stations ).
All servers has 2 Input power sockets ( Input 1 and Input 2) .
APC UPS input is connected through electricity from DB 1 and Server Input 1 is connected to the UPS and Server Input 2 is not connected to any of the power sources.
My question is , keeping the UPS connected to the server input 1, can I connect server Input 2 directly to the Mains Power supply, so that my servers will be connected to UPS as well as directly from the power supply mains ( to make sure if UPS failed to provide out put or battery is drained out , server will have electricity from INPUT 2 automatically from the AC Mains directly thorugh DB2.)
Thanks for your support
Jamsheer

Please correct if i am wrong.

Sounds reasonable, although there are complications regarding shutdown with PowerChute Network Shutdown.
Normally if you have two inputs, you put UPSes on both inputs and then PCNS is configured with both UPSes. In that configuration, it will not shut down the server until both UPSes experience a power failure.
However with only one UPS, a power failure on the line going into your UPS may lead to PCNS shutting down your server even though the redundant source is okay. That defeats the purpose of having a redundant source.
If you do not set up PCNS on your server, then it is unprotected in the case that both power sources fail for longer than the UPS can provide power.
