I'm trying to determine why my UPS turned off output power without switching to battery. We were doing a generator test, and 2 UPS' turned off output power at the same time. Here is the relevant log entries for the time period.

The two systems believe the power outputted by the generator is outside of the user settings / operating range and considered (Dirty).

The event logs clearly state this as wave form, frequency, and voltage. You may consider adjusting the transfer voltage, sensitivity, frequency, and slew rate to a wider range and report back the results.

You may find none of the above will change the results because the output from the generator exceeds the defined limits of the UPS.

Lastly, you’ll probably find this generator is outputting excessive THD in both 1st / 3rd harmonics.

Show me the event, data, ups logs for both units along with the settings for these two systems.

I got the same problem with my APC SMART 3000 UPS in just a few days ago, the firmware is also 04.7, I was suggested to upgrade the firmware to a higher version. As said, it might be a bug with the current version.

None of the current firmware updates will resolve dirty power being present. The OP will need to provide the relevant logs and factual data from a power quality meter.

As the UPS doesn’t have the ability to capture and display the required information as it relates to power quality.
