UPS: Compensating for a high input voltage alerts
Hi,
We are receiving "UPS: Compensating for a high input voltage" alert emails every 2 minutes for the last 15 hours. The UPS is a Smart UPS X3000. I checked the displapyt and it's showing that the Input Voltage is 248.5 V.
Does anyone know what could cause this sudden increase in the input voltage? Also, is 248V too high?
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks
Joe

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your response. You are correct...I spoke with APC and while they suggested I contact the Utility Company to see why the spike, they said it was nothing to really worry about.
Thanks again for your answer,
Joe

The utility company is the cause. Power fluctuations are not abnormal and assuming the UPS is set to output 240 volts 248.5 should not hurt any attached systems.
