UPS 3000

I have an UPS 3000 and every 14 days it shuts down. It’s not hooked up to any Computer to drive the Power Chute App. If in the pass it was setup to shut down How can disable Power Chute if that’s the Problem.

+"BWO,+
+How old is the ups and the batteries? How do you turn it back on? Are there any red leds lit on the front panel?+

+It sounds like it may be failing a self test and dropping the load. While this is rare, if it has been failing multiple self tests, the battery may be so weak that it can't even support the load for even a brief outage."+

The batteries might be 6 month old... and by unpluging the unit for 30 sec and plug in back it comes up ok,, and another 14 days to the hour it shuts down again. Just wondering if there is a way to turn off the test. It's like clock work every 14 days to the hour of unpluging it turns off.. I'll check into the battery age
And no red lites , and when the power is returned ,shows full charge.
Checked the age,, yes 6 months old
Thanks

Didn't mean to mislead On the age of the UPS 3000 just the battery age was 6 months old. this Unit been around, and new batteries were installed when the Video department was created.
the numbers I found are SU3000NET and WS993891xxxx.
And the com port is a DB 9 connector.

thanks

You can disable the self test if thats whats causing it through APC's powerchute business edition software or a network management card. This is not recommended though since unless you run self tests manually, its possible for the load to go down due to a bad battery. You can atleast run self tests manually through the front panel by holding the test button until you see the leds change.

Since you would have to change this through the software anyways, I would recommend letting it run connected to the ups for 2 weeks if possible before changing the setting. Since the software keeps data and event logs, we may be able to get a better idea of why this is happening.

Also since you said it was new, what is the exact model number and first 6 digits of the serial number on the white sticker on the back?
