Hi All,
I just replaced the batteries in my Smart-UPS SRT 8000 (SRT8KXLT)and discovered that the people at this position before me never updated the firmware of the 9537 card. I believe this is why it will not allow me to enter a current date as the date the batteries were replaced.
When in the 9537 card. the about UPS card is showing a firmware of "UPS 04.4 (ID1014)" and under network it is reporting the APC OS is at 6.4 and Boot is at 1.0.8
I have downloaded the firmware for the model SRT8KXLT which is at 7.2. I point the update screen to the firmware .bin file, and choose Update UPS. The screen tells me it is downloading the firmware, but nothing happens after that and firmware does not change.
Any ideas?

You’re talking about three different things which are not related. Your first task is to confirm the system has the correct date, time, and DST if applicable.
The NMC should be pointed to a valid and reachable NTP Server. Ideally to a local Stratum 1 time source or worse case an external one.
If the date and time are not defined and set do so now. If the date and time are correct than simply disconnect the Anderson connector from the RBC from the system.
The system will declare a battery disconnect fault. Wait another 30 seconds and than reconnect the Anderson connector.
The system will prompt you to confirm if the RBC has been changed. Toggle from No to Yes and enter the month / year and hit save.
Self Test: Manually initiate a self test and let pass and allow the RBC to recharge to 100% SOC (State of Charge).
Battery Calibration: Manually initiate a battery calibration with at least 30% attached load.
Allow this process to complete and RBC to return to 100% SOC.
Mark down the RBC installation date on the front of the cartridge.
UPS Firmware: The UPS is currently on 4.4 firmware. The latest UPS firmware is on the FUW which is 15.2.
UPS Firmware should only be done to address security, bugs, feature enhancements while (In Warranty). As you risk bricking a fully operational system by doing so.
Read, Understand, and insure you meet all the prerequisites and requirements before you proceed as outlined in the APC UPS Firmware FAQ:
https://www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA279197/
NMC: The current firmware for the NMC 2 is 7.2.0. Based on the information from you the NMC is currently on 6.4.X.
You need only run the EXE to launch the firmware wizard to update the NMC. Enter the username / password / IP Address. Select FTP and do not save logs than hit continue and let complete.
Once the pop up appears wait another ten seconds before you close the window! ☝️
