Symmetra PX MIB fle required along with defined OID

Good Day,

I am working on a Symmetra PX UPS.

The UPS is connected with 06 Nos. of Power Modules and it is also connected with 12 Nos. of PDM's

I wish to read all the values of UPS, Power Module and PDM via SNMP, I have a MIB file but when i use SNMP WALK i just get OID (1.3.5.6.7.8.9.) and value i am not getting any object name in SNMP Walk.

It would be great help if someone share a file which defines OID along with Object names.

Thank You.

Genjua

Can you confirm which version of the MIB you've loaded? You should have at least 4.1.X - which I think the latest is 4.1.2. See my screenshot using 4.1.2. My guess is the MIB you have is possibly outdated.

Hi,

What MIB file do you have? You'll want ot make sure you loaded/compiled the APC PowerNet MIB from http://www.apc.com/tools/download/index.cfm

You'll maybe want to look into how the SNMPwalk tool works. I worked with some one recently that used SNMPwalk and the tool was not walking APC specific OIDs if he walked it from the top. All APC specific OIDs will be here and beyond: .1.3.6.1.4.1.318 .. you might try walking specifically from there, using the proper syntax. Most of the OIDs for this UPS (or any) will be under .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.products.hardware.ups or .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1. It also may be helpful to try a graphical MIB browser like GetIf or iReasoning to browse so you know which OIDs may be of interest to you versus using a CLI tool like SNMPwalk.

Angela, I am glad to hear that the pain which i am facing you have already faced 🙂

Well i am using IReasoning MIB Browser and using WALK against the APC MIB file for UPS Symmetra IP.

after that i am able to view UPS and its batteries OID's and i have chosen OID of my choice, Now like i mentioned in my first post that UPS is connected along with Power Modules and PDM's i wish to monitor PDM Breaker Status, Its Current Its volatge using same MIB file but i am unable to view that.

I am looking for some file which defines product OID along with its name so that i pick up the OID which i want to use and leave the rest.

Hi - the only MIB file we have is the giant MIB file that contains all of the OIDs for APC products. Most people usually walk it to see what is available and then have your monitoring program (that is not necessarily a MIB browser) only poll the ones that you're interested in.

Are you going to be strictly using iReasoning or were you just using that to browse before you load OIDs into a different system for long term monitoring? This is a UPS so it will give you a lot of OIDs from .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.products.hardware.ups but you could also start from .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.products to make sure that you get all possible OIDs relating to the power distribution. I don't have one of these systems to check on but I imagine some of the modular PDU stuff you're looking for is under .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.products.hardware.isxModularDistribution or .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.products.hardware.isxModularPdu so I'd try walking those if you can and see what you get.

I am using iReasoning just for initial WALK after that i will chose my desire OID and monitor it over front end software.

Is there is any other browser that you will advise to use for MIB WALK?

I will check isxModularDistribution or .iso.org.dod.internet.private.enterprises.apc.products.hardware.isxModularPdu and will update you.

Thanks.

Thanks once again.

Basically i have 2-3 files, the one which i ws using is 318 version, Now i have loaded 4.1.2 which show ISXModular folder in the MIB Browser.

Thanks Much once again.
