Hi,
We have a 16KVa Symmetra LX with a defective PM. We've replaced these before and it's pretty straight forward. At the moment for this dead PM when we unscrew the locking PIN, the PM doesn't power down, or get removed from the system. If we just pull it out, will there be any consequences? Is there a way to manually shut down the PM? What's the procedure for this?
Thanks for your help!

have you tried to gently tap the thumbscrew down? maybe the latch is still caught?

i would suggest that you go into maintenance bypass and then try to pull it out. if it still does not come out, it makes me think the latch still is caught possibly.

The latch and screw come out. We put the system into by pass, however the fan on the PM is still spinning and it's still showing it as a bad PM. Can I just yank out the dead PM while the system is in by pass?

yes, bypass does not stop the fan from spinning. in bypass, just yank it out and then remember to take it out of bypass later 🙂
