Hi!
We have a Symmetra LX 16000 at a remote location that is sending an email a few times every hour with the message "System level fan fault exists?". It seems to clear itself within a minutes time.
I'm logged into the Web Interface and cant seem to figure out what fan its referring to. With it clearing itself almost immediately, I can't tell if it is an erroneous event or something to be concerned about.
The units temperature appears to be normal.
This does look like the internal fan that it keeps referring to. Is this a part that can be easily replaced?
Thank you,
Steve

Thank you both for the information. I was out of the office yesterday but my co-worker reseated the unit and the alerts have not returned.
Thank you again!!!

Hello Steve,
I used to work at a place that had 2 of these units. We once encountered a similar issue with the fan fault error occurring then immediately resolving itself.
Try reseating the fan module to clear up the errors. It worked for me the last time I had to do it. If that don't work, then you might need to replace the module.
Hope this fixes your problem.

The fan module on the LX is above the intelligence modules inside the unit, in the top right area of the inside of the frame. It can be disconnected by unplugging the small connector cable that powers it. If reseating/cleaning/reconnecting the fan does not solve the issue, you may need a replacement fan, or the intelligence modules may be reporting the fan state incorrectly. If the fan is operating fine and still faulting, it is more likely to the intelligence modules. I would call into tech. support @ 1-800-800-4272 for more "active" assistance and a possible RMA.

How did you check all the fans?? You can't see all the fans while the unit is running and the fans that are most likely the problem for sure cannot be seen without some disassembly. I would contact your local APC support for further assistance in repairing this unit.
