Symmetra LX 16000 Number of Betteries Increase/Decrease?

I have looked in the forums and haven't found what I have been looking for so I am posting this.

I have had a Symmetra LX 16000 in our server room for about a month now. I have it set up to a syslog server to capture the events and notify me if anything is out of the normal, ie power issues in and out of the Symmetra. Below is the Recent Device Events that have been making me scratch my head lately.

10/04/2011 20:15:55 UPS: The number of batteries increased.
10/04/2011 20:15:39 UPS: The number of batteries decreased.

10/04/2011 08:15:54 UPS: The number of batteries increased.
10/04/2011 08:15:39 UPS: The number of batteries decreased.

I don't know why this is happening becuase there are only two people that have acces to our server room where the symmetra is located, and niether one of us have messed with it since installation.

If anyone has any information on this issue or a way to fix the issue, please let me know and thanks in advance.

If you have any external battery cabinets (XR Frames), that would be my first area of focus here. It's possible that you have an XR Comm Card that is on its way out.

A typical Symmetra LX can only hold up to 4 battery modules, so if you have more than that, you likely have at least one XR frame.

(There is a Symmetra LX with an integrated 9-battery XR frame, but that would not be using a traditional XR Comm Card)

This usually indicates that one of the batteries isn't seated properly. Of course they can be other causes such as bad batteries, low battery voltage etc but you would likely see other faults/entries in the log. Assuming you do not have any faults and you don't see any other alarms in the log, I would recommend reseating each battery(lift up on the handle, pull towards you and then reinstall). You don't need to slam it in but give it a little bit of force. If this doesn't work, I would recommend calling tech support at 800-800-4272 and they will help you determine the problem.
