I wonder what is surge energy ratings ( Joules) of SYLX for its frame, power module, SYMIM5?
I can see the approvals on web site, but I am not sure how the approvals corresponds to Joules.
Thank you in advance.

Other than the fact that the LX units comply to UL1449 for a strict maximum on let-through voltage during a surge event, we don't have a joules rating on the unit or any part of the unit. This means that the unit has been certified to be safe for all IT loads, and all failure possibilities/modes are acceptable (MOVs burning up, clamping down on a surge, shunting to ground, or sacrificing itself to take the surge). Any other information we have would be in the manuals and online documentation. This is all the information I can give.
From experience in direct technical support and hands-on engineering education with the unit, I can say that I have never seen a SYLX be responsible directly, or indirectly for load damage. I have however, seen plenty of evidence of the unit failing beforehand, in the way of pictures and burnt parts coming back to our facility 😛

We don't have a set joule rating for the SYLX. The power modules and SYMIM5 intelligence modules don't need or have a surge rating as they are not "early" or "high" enough in the power path to be immediately affected by a surge. Do you have a surge-prone environment that you are installing the SYLX into? Why do you need this information, if you don't mind me asking?
I will check with our product team to see if there is any public information we can disclose that is more relevant to your question.

Thank you, I'll try to be more clear.
Generally, UPS for networks like SUA1000I has Surge energy rating ( for eg 320 Joules )
So it is a bit strange that large UPSs do not have the rating. At web site I can see that there is no surge rating for SYA16K16I. On the other hand I can see that the UPS complies with EN61000-4-5 : 1995 Surge immunity Standard. Right?
Unfortunately I do not have the satandard to read, but my question is how the standard correlates to surge energy rating? What is high energy transient characteristic in terms of Joules?
For eg: Surge 10 -700microsecs, High Energy.
