I am considering purchasing an SUA3000 to run a sump pump during power outages. I have read other threads on here that seem to discourage the use of these products for such an application. My alternative can be found here
http://www.altapower.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=872%2D1800&Show=TechSpecs
I just don't see much difference when comparing the specs of the two and the Sumpro is twice the cost. Would someone with more knowledge than myself please take a look at this product and see if I am missing something when comparing?
Thanks!!

Thanks I was unable to find the amp hours for the APC. The Sumpro is actually 12V x 120aH x 2 = 2880. The price is $2000. I has hoping to beat that with an APC setup.

Taking a quick look at the specs of the two systems, the rated output looks similar between the two. The battery capacity is quite different however.
Sumpro battery capacity: 24v x 210ahr = 5040 w/hr
APC battery capacity RBC55: 12v x 18ahr x 4ea = 864w/hr
As you can see the Sumpro has nearly 6 times the battery capacity as the APC
Take care,
Stew
Edit: I believe I am reading the Sumpro battery specs correctly, 12v x 210ahr x 2ea. But looking at the optional batteries I think what they may mean is 12v x 120ahr x 2ea, which would half the battery capacity from what I wrote earlier. Even if that's the case, you still would have significant more battery capacity with Sumpro.
