Standard plan expires after only half a year?

Hi, I have two of your UPS’s in use.
The first one I started using in April 2023, with my warranty and standard plan expiring in April 2026.

The second UPS I started using in March 2024, with my warranty expiring in March 2027. For this UPS however, I just received a message that my standard plan already expires in September 2024, so only half a year after I started using it.

I don’t really understand why there should be a difference between these two.

Can you explain to me why the standard plan for my second UPS does not cover the entire warranty period?

UPS 1 was built on 32 week of 2022, UPS 2 was built on 39th week of 2023. As it relates to UPS 2 what does Smart Connect indicate when that device was activated?

If your hardware supports the (NMC) Network Management Card in the rear (Rectangle Blanking Plate). You may consider installing any of the following NMC: AP9630, 9631, 9635 which are end of life (EOL) and no longer receive updates and technical support. 😑

But, can be found on eBay for very cheap price! 😍

The latest generation of NMC is the AP9640, 9641 which has active development and technical support. Installing any of the above NMC would provide you (Local Control) advanced features, management, and notification.

Smart Connect does not offer any sort of Management of the UPS. 👎

NOTE: If one of the replies helped solve your problem or query would you kindly mark that reply as a solution. So it may help the next person asking the very same. 👍

It would be helpful to know what specific model APC UPS you're talking about. Next, in general terms the hardware (Warranty) is based on the purchase date. If a person did not have the receipt to prove when the unit was purchased if a warranty claim was started.

APC Technical Support would base the warranty coverage based on the serial number of the hardware. The serial number indicates the week and year the unit was built. So, for example let's just say you purchased a brand new APC UPS from Amazon. To you the hardware is new, but the hardware you just purchased could have been NOS (New Old Stock) or hardware just sitting in the back of the shelf until sold.

If you review the serial number of the two units what are they??? Provide that information here for more insight. If you find out the (New to you) UPS is / was made in say 2020 based on the serial number. You need only contact APC Technical Support with the purchase receipt and they will update the warranty to reflect this specific hardware was NOS.

If your question is about the APC Smart Connect (Cloud Portal Service).

The first year is free, and than requires an annual paid subscription to keep all the features. The subscription begins when you sign up and enroll that specific hardware.

UPS1 is a Smart-UPS 1000, with the serial number AS2232152656

UPS2 is a Smart-UPS 750, with the serial number 3S2339X17732

For both the warranty is 3 years, so there’s no problem there, but the Standard Plan (which gives you access to remote monitoring) for UPS2 will be expiring next September (thus only half a year after I started using the device).

Because in UPS1 the indicated expiration date of the Standard Plan equals the expiration date of the warranty, I was expecting it to be the same for UPS2.

UPS2 was activated in March 2024 so this would explain the difference, since in the link you shared, it is stated that for new devices (after August 2023) the Standard Plan is reduced to a 6-month trial.

Thank you very much for your help in clarifying this issue!
