Software for BR800i

Dear Support team and expertise,

I've UPS APC BR800i series. What kind of PowerChute Software could be installed on this series, except the PowerChute Personal Edition ? Could i installed the PowerChute Business Edition in BR800i series, because many features that i need not included in Personal Edition software ?

Hi Adam,

The BR800I UPS is a simple signaling UPS which ships with Power Chute Personal Edition software. APC Power Chute Business Edition software will not work with this UPS via the USB cable that came with it. Secondly, PCBE software will not provide an advanced monitoring features or it will be limited if it communicates with a Simple Signaling UPS. It works well with APC Smart Signaling UPSs in order to view the advanced monitoring details such as Event, Data, Diagnostics etc.,

Thank you for your feedback...Yeah, I've tried to install APC PowerChute Business Edition and not working with unknown devices status in the web interface 🙂
One of the features that i need is knowing if the UPS on each user on low battery and need to be replaced. The UPS should give us alert by email to our helpdesk. I could do that in SUA750i series with PowerChute Business Edition. Could i get this feature in Personal Edition or could you give me solution for this?

APC PCPE software doesn't have an email notification feature unfortunately. The UPS status can be monitored on a standalone PC through PCPE. APC PCPE does allow user to perform a manual Self test to check the battery integrity.

I have not tested the PCBE software with the BR800I to check if it can be used to send an email notification. So I leave this thread to other forum members for their opinions..
