have a SU1500 which would not show any events (actually did show 2 from 2 months ago)
but hasn't shown anything since then such as undervoltages (when lights in office dim)
or power outages (when i pulled the plug). Reset the sampling interval from 2 hours to 1
minute (per APC support) and it, at least, showed an event when I pulled the plug after
the change. i do not understand why changing the sampling interval would affect the event
log. Any thoughts?

It shows on the log that you have provided earlier, the UPS is utilizing the Green Mode feature. The Green Mode feature gets activated once the unit has detected that you have clean and good input voltage and frequency, thus eliminating the need to use the UPSs other components such as voltage regulation and filtering. With regards to the other UPS being able to detect power outages, can you check both UPS and see if the Power Quality are set the same i.e. Low, Medium or High.

Sorry, need to add some more information. i bought another unit and it seems to catch
power outages in the event log but does not catch under voltages (unless we are getting
odd problems on internal circuits and not the the feed). So I have two questions and the
first is why would the event log be affected by the sampling interval (problem noticed
on the first unit) and, second, why isn't the second unit catching these voltage fluctuations
(and the first didn't seem to catch them either)? Sorry if i am making this more complex
than it needs to be but i really didn't like leaving the first UPS on the server when it was
at an out of town location. thanks.

Can you confirm the model number of your UPS please? Also, is it the event logs on the LCD or the logs from the software i.e. PowerChute Business or Network Shutdown that you are having problems with?
