Hi Everybody!
We have recently added a smart UPS mod. SMX3000RMHV2U to our rack together with an HP Proliant ML350G6 server.
LastFriday, the power-networkhas fallenand the UPSsuccessfullysupportedthe equipmentfor about3hoursthenproceededtoturn off the server.
Then for about48hoursthe serverhas beenturned off!
What i would like to know is if there's a way to send a command (or a specific configuration) to switch on the server (if it has been switched off by the UPS) after power-network is restored.
ps:
before install this Smart UPS we used for a long time another small SmartUPS up to 1500VA but now we need more power.
After the substitution, the upgraded version of powerchute (9.1 build 615) doesn't recognize the server anymore.
Trying to establish a connection Powerchute report he can't find the agent ("unknow device") however with "WEB Agent interface" we can make the connection and configure the UPS.

Dear Angela,
thank you for your prompt reply.
I assuming server has the right config on Bios (tomorrow i will check it) but in the meanwhile i check the UPS config and found, i suppose, a wrong parameters (see attached file).
IfI interpretcorrectlythat parametermeans, when battery isexhausted, UPSremainsturned off (theneitherthe server will not berestarted).
Can you confirm it?

Hello again!
No, that setting does not impact what I said. As soon as the "low battery" condition is true, the UPS will start a shut down, and wait for AC power to return. The low battery setting is also able to be adjusted by the user. By default, it is at 2 minutes meaning when the UPS runs on battery and only has 2 minutes of runtime remaining, it will say low battery! and force the PowerChute Business Edition Agent to start a shutdown. The user can increase that value if they want, for example, if their device/server takes longer than 2 minutes to shutdown. Either way, the UPS should turn back on when AC power returns.
Can you check the event log to see if the scenario you mentioned if the UPS turned back on? We'll need to know that. Or, when you noticed your server was off, did you have to turn the UPS back on or just the server?

Hi,
Check the settings in PowerChute to be sure the UPS has been configured to power the outlets back up when AC returns. There are 2 settings. The first is under Outlet Sequence and the second is under Load Shedding.
