SmartUPS C1500 error p.06
So a 7(ish) year old Smart UPS C 1500 has suddenly thrown an error p.06 on the LCD screen. I've put in a new battery and still getting the same error. I can't seem to find anything anywhere what the error relates to. Once the error is thrown it cuts off battery supply to the outlets. Passes a self test OK from cold start. Battery seems to charge ok, and will run happily when not plugged into the mains.
Any ideas as the what the fault is, and is it repairable cost effectively?

Hi Matt
I believe the P.06 fault is related to the AVR relay.
Basically, this means that the relay that does the switching when the unit is either boosting or trimming the power, is possibly faulty.
Next step should be to unplug the equipment connected to the UPS, and then proceed to unplug the incoming power and then the battery.
After a minute or two, reconnect the battery and the input power and turn on the unit.
If the error persists, the relay is broken.

Thanks for the info Tonny, i'll investigate further. I've tried the unplugging and trying again method, so i guess the relay is shot. I've just come across a youtube link that supposedly shows how to replace the relay.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AW2ZKtzr0rc
I'll post back with any success/fail stories.
Best wishes,
Matt

Hi Matt
Best of luck!
Just note that unplugging the battery, as well as the input power, is required to do a complete reboot of the UPS.
The clue here is to let the unit go though the self test it is performing at startup, just to be sure the alarm is valid.

I just bought a Smart UPS SMT1500c (2-days old) and received the P.06 error. Can't be a bad AVR relay already. Not happy!!
