I have a Smartups 2200 RM, and for years, when I turn off the UPS from the front panel, it shut power off to the loads.
All of the sudden, last night, this changed. Now the loads stay on even after the UPS is off.
How did this change? How can I get change it back?
I run PowerChute Business Edition 7.0.5.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I really don't want to spend the money right now. But thanks for the advice.
Is there a procedure to do a "reset to factory defaults" on it? So I can squeek out some more life from it?

A standard smart-ups should certainly power off everything when turned off. Make sure those devices don't have dual power supplies or something drawing from another source. I hate to state the obvious, but is it possible someone moved some power cords? 😃
There's a model and serial number on the white sticker on the back. Do you mind posting what you have?

No, there are no dual-power supplies, no changes in the connections. This is in my house and no one has access to it except me.
The unit is a Smart-UPS 2200 RM.
Serial: XS9828003523
Firmware: 82.9.D
I have a recalibration key and I did that procedure last night. The problem remains.
We had a tornado last night. I did my usual power off sequence. All the servers shutdown, then the UPS turned off.
To my amazement, all the routers, switches, monitors, and other stuff were still powered up!
I had to go and pull the plug out of the wall for the UPS to get the loads off.
Its like, after the UPS shutdown, it went to bypass mode. But I don't even know if the 2200 has a bypass mode, nor do I know how to configure it.

There isn't a bypass mode available for that unit, so there's got to be a problem with it. It's about 10 years old, so it may be time for a new one. Try APC sales support at 800-890-4272, there's a trade-in program you can consider.
