Hi my ups has developed a faulty battery and i'm getting the following alert: At least 1 battery has failed. The ups has 6 batteries in total. How do i go about eliminating the faulty battery?

Hi Umberto,
What is the exact model number of the unit?
If you have battery packs attached the first thing I would do is disconnect them and run a self test. If it fails then you know it is at least one in the main unit. You can then take batteries from the battery pack and swap them with the main unit and run another self test. In general though if the batteries are pushing 5 years old I would recommend replacing all of them as mismatch batteries are not good for the system and can lead to unexpected performance.

Thanks very much for that, i have a really silly question. I've spent a lot of time on the APC website with no success, i'm trying to find out what batteries this unit uses. I can't find the info anywhere. Are they RBC44?

Hi,
The internal original battery pack SKU is RBC44 and it has been replaced with APCRBC140. The external battery packs SKU is SURT192XLBP.

Hi,
You would replace a SURT192XLBP with a new SUTR192XLBP.
