Hi all,
I realize that the batteries in the Smart-UPS 3000XLM are hot swappable, but I'm wondering about the power module. The documentation is a bit vague on the PM.
Our UPS put itself into bypass mode and is indicating a hardware failure after a storm the other night. I've tried forcing a self-test but no luck.
I'm wondering if, since it put itself into bypass mode, can we swap out the power module without taking the equipment down that's plugged into it. It's powering some equipment that really can't be taken down if at all possible.
Thanks for your help.

Outstanding!
I thought it might work, since that's why we always purchase modular UPSes, and APC is pretty good at that sort of thing. I just really needed some verification from someone who knows for sure.
Thanks for the quick response too. Looks like I have work to do this afternoon.

The bypass breaker is actually located on the power module, so if you were to disengage the power module, it'd automatically go to bypass.
So yes, this is doable.
