Hi,
I have a SMC1500 which, after its self-test emits a loud continuous sound and displays 2 error codes P.00 & P.01. These error codes indicate a shorted output according to the documentation. I am getting the same error even when there is nothing plugged into the unit.
The battery seems to be charging but it does not keep its charge for very long (I assume because of this short).
The unit is still under warranty.
Before I've had this error, I noticed that the unit would not recharge its battery after we had a 20 minute power outage. I then proceeded to do a manual reset where you let the battery drain completely before plugging it back in for 24 hrs. After this reset, I started getting the error I mentioned earlier.
Do I need to do some other calibration or is the unit really defective ?
