Smart-UPS SC620 Device Status Initializing
I support a server with a Smart-UPS SC620 attached, the device status shows as 'Initializing' with 0% UPS Load and 318 Minutes Runtime Remaining. No diagnostic tests appear to work and there are no self test results available. I've installed PowerChute Business Edition Agent 9.2 from the APC website.
I've searched this forum and only found an answer for a Smart-UPS 1500 and it appears the answer was to reset the UPS, how do I do this on a SC620 please?

Hi Dan,
That model is a small low-cost unit and functions a little differently that traditional Smart-UPS. To reset it, you could try Turning off the UPS, Disconnecting it from utility power, then disconnecting / reconnecting the battery and powering the unit back up. Make sure the serial cable is an 940-0024 or 940-1524 cable (The part number is stamped on the connector). If you still have the same issue, it is likely a comm isssue on the software side of things (serial port config or similar...)
BTW - Be mindful of using this UPS with server applications. It has a very small capacity and is easily overloaded by modern PFC power supplies. They were generally aimed at applications like POS terminals or basic routers/switches...
