Hi all,
I'm troubled for a Smart-UPS RT 8000 XL
the unit worked well for about six years, and last month I done a full replacement of the batteries.
Now I'm receiving the message
"Critical - UPS: The battery power is too low to support the load; if power fails, the UPS will be shut down immediately."
from the UPS at about 1 minutes of intervals.
I've done the reset of the setup except the network more than one time, and also self tests and runtime calibrations without success.
I've updated the firmware but the messages still remain.
I've tryed also the non documented procedure with hyper terminal for the reset but it doesn't work, I receive only the code 27 after SHIFT Y and 0
Please, can someone help?
Thanks

Ok, I do think we need to do some type of calibration to get the UPS to recognize it has more than 0 minutes actual runtime. A runtime calibration issued via the software requires a 100% battery charge and a few other conditions met. I imagine it could also deny it because of the 0 minutes reported.
I suggest you do a manual runtime calibration. This requires at least 30% load thatdoes not fluctuate more than +/- 5 to ensure accuracy of the results. You maybe should pick a non-critical load because the UPS and load will turn off at the end.
This will also require you uninstall the management card and disconnect any serial cables from the UPS. You'll want to trip the breaker to the UPS and let it run on battery power until it turns off then let it charge back up so it can re-calculate the actual runtime.
The root cause is that 0 minutes is reported even with new batteries.

Can you provide your event.txt, data.txt and config.ini file from your management card please? instructions are @ http://www.apc.com/site/support/index.cfm/faq/ and search for FA156131.
also, what is the load percentage on the UPS and available runtime?

These are the files:
ftp://guest:guest@reguittinet.com/event.txt
ftp://guest:guest@reguittinet.com/data.txt
ftp://guest:guest@reguittinet.com/config.ini
The load is between the 25% and 50% but I have no idea about the available runtime,
The web interface is showing zero minutes and I cannot start a runtime calibration.
Thank you for your help.
