Hello
We have a number of apc smart-ups rt 6000xl located in our server room.
The units perform a self test every week.
We have found one of the units passes this test then a short while later starts to give a battery charger fault exists error message followed by refused self test ups is overloaded message.
This has happened every 4 weeks for the last 5 months.
When we a initiate a self test by pressing the button on the ups this clears the error message.
While the ups is still performing its role without issue we would like to know if there is a fix for this issue.
the ups is under 70% load.

Can you give me the first several digits of the serial number please and the UPS firmware revision? They should both be listed in the same place. Something like 610.0D or similar.
It sounds like a legitimate fault with the battery charger but I'd just like to verify that other information before I leave that here as my official response.

Thanks.
We'd suggest you swap this UPS if its under warranty (or not) I guess. We believe it to be a legitimate fault with the battery charger.
