Hello
We do have a Smart-UPS RT 5000 XL plus a extra battery pack installed in production.
After haveing couple outages, we noticed that the battery runtime of about an hour is not enough for the worst case.
Anyhow we bought a generator.
The UPS is not accepting the power of the generator.
We looked at the waveform, its a quite a good sine wave with some small hickups. (inverter Gen)
Frequency and Voltage is stable.
The UPS tries to switch to utility power and immidiately switches back to battery.
The Logs say continously :
08/07/2015 | 14:00:23 | UPS: On battery power in response to rapid change of input. |
08/07/2015 | 14:00:23 | UPS: No longer on battery power. |
As far as i understood the UPS should be able to utilize the gnerator power and do double conversation.
Occasionally the UPS switches to battery for few seconds even when on grid power, i guess caused small fluctuations in the grid.
Any idea how we can ajust the sensivity?
The generator output is 3 times larger than the load on the UPS.
Any help is appreaciated.
Regards

Do you have a scope output you can share? This is tough to argue without seeing that or maybe having someone on our side review it because it appears fine from what you have reviewed but apparently the UPS is seeing a problem with it. Online UPSs don't have a sensitivity setting like standby or line interactive models because of their topology to begin with.. They allow such a wide range of voltage on the input since they are recreating the sinewave on the output. If the UPS is seeing a problem, it must be fairly severe to cause it to run on battery.
Some causes could be voltage, frequency (both you mentioned), electrical noise, change in voltage over time, etc. So, maybe it is not something super obvious that the scope reading may show when zooming in.

Hi Angela,
Sorry for the delay, we had to wait for a good time to run the generator.
For what we are seeing the UPS should accept the Input. See Link below.

Hi Amita,
Sorry, I contacted your local expert and I thought he said he was escalating it within CCC and overseeing the case. Have you heard anything from EMEA/local technical support? If not, I'll follow up with them.

Hi Amita,
I apologize, I think I confused your video with another forum post here but I clarified it with myself now My fault for the delay.
Can you get your full NMC logs available and ready (event.txt, data.txt, and config.ini or the .tar file if v6 firmware)? Instructions here -> http://www.schneider-electric.us/support/index?page=content&country=US〈=en&locale=en_US&id=FA156131
I will still see if local tech support can contact you to further look at that scope video and discuss.
