Smart-UPS 3000 and UPS:Batteries discharged/condition cleared problem !

Hello everyone !

I have a weird problem that i can't figure out.

Eatch morning at 5am for like 6-7minutes i received those emails from the UPS :

UPS: Batteries discharged.
UPS: Battery discharge condition cleared.
UPS: Batteries discharged.
UPS: Battery discharge condition cleared.
and etc. for like 5min eatch like 30seconds.

All lights are green on my UPS and this UPS is like 1years or so old.

What could i do ?

Thanks a lot !

Cheers !

Nope not a weird question, ok in the interface if you are using older firmware which has a menu system on the left side with a dark blue background for it:

go to smart ups 3000 ->status this should tell you the UPS current info including the load percentage under the Output power status section, the load would be called Load Power.

if you have the newer firmware interface with tabs across the top and a lighter blue background, go to the UPS tab and in the overview section you should see a bar graph representing your load percentage, you can further go to status, underneath overview to check this.

To find out what version of firmware you have you can go to help->about system on the older style, or the admin tab->general->about on the newer.

As a matter of course, if you have older firmware you probably want to upgrade it in general, you can find the firmware for an AP9617/8/9 NMC here just choose the one for the smart-ups / matrix, which should be the third download button from the top.

Also, you do not need to install Power Chute Business Edition (monitor as you say) if you are using a network management card. They wouldnt be able to work together.

Maybe it's a weird question but the only way i monitor this UPS is with the web interface. I can see the runtime it's about 7min but where can i see the load ? Can't find it do i need to install Power Shut Monitor (The software that come in on a CD) ?

Thanks !

Hello,

You may find this article helpful, it applies whether using Power Chute business edition, or a Network Management Card: Here

If this doesnt answer your question or help let us know. Basically the article will explain why this could be happening and give a couple steps to try if so. Are you using a network card or PCBE with the unit?

Ok so depending on what firmware you have if you need to change/look at the runtime and low batt times they will be in different areas, but the article will still give an applicable answer.

Let me know if you have further questions, or the procedures and things dont work / arent applicable.
