Smart UPS 3000 XL Battery Replacement

Can the batteries in a SMART UPS 3000 XL or 2200 XL be replaced on the fly? Are they hot swappable without a by-pass unit?

It is a SU3000RMNET. Can not get the full serial number, tag torn, WS2000200045 is all I have. I was able to replace the batteries, but I still have a red battery indicator on the front panel.

Thanks for the help. I did a test on the UPs and this cleared the battery LED.
