Hi all I have an old Smart-UPS 3000 RM. I replaced the battery and tried to perform a self test. The ups shut down immediately with the events UPS: The load exceeds 100% of rated capacity | UPS: The output power is turned off.The output power is turned off due to an overload.
I reduced the load down to 27% (starting from 50%) and now the ups passes the self test. During the self test the load goes up to 100% and the overload led sometimes flashes.
Is it normal this behaviour i.e. 27% when plugged and 100% when on battery? It does not make any sense to me: the reported Runtime Remaining could be 3 time higher than expected! If I see 27% load on supply I would expect almost the same when on battery.
Can someone explain me why when the ups on battery the load is 100% while when plugged into mains the load is 27%? Or maybe my ups is damaged?
Here my ups details:
Model: Smart-UPS 3000 RM
Serial Number: JS0425020804
Firmware Revision: 666.4.I
Manufacture Date: 06/17/04
Thanks

Hi,
The UPS is not reading the load properly when on battery indicates an internal fault. Based on the serial number the UPS is 12 years old so our recommendation is to replacing the UPS.
