I've setup on a ESX server allowing USB pass through via vShphere to a Server 2008 management server, I get an error saying outlet group need setup and to click on the link, but this goes now where, and I can't see any configuration for this in tools, any help would be great as I plan to use this for a scheduled outage very shortly

No I'm using the USB cable as one would with a physical server, no Network management card installed.

Hi,
From reading your post it looks like you have installed PCBE on Windows 2008 server that is a VM running on VMWare ESX. Is that correct? If so we do not official support this configuration but I think it should work. What will happen is when PowerChute see that the UPS is on battery it will shutdown the Windows VM. If you want the ESX host powered down you will need to write a command file that PowerChute can run that will tell the host to power down.
As for the outlet settings, those should appear in the PowerChute web interface. YOu can access the web interface by at https://ip address of server:6547 To help troubleshoot that issue I will need to know what version of PowerChute Agent has been installed. What is the exact model Smart-UPS 2200: e.g. SMT2200, SMX2200 and as Angela wrote the web bowers version along with a screenshot.

Can you provide a screenshot? I assume you mean you're using PowerChute Network Shutdown since you mentioned a USB connection?
