I've searched these forums, have run the manual calibration from the KB, and have yet to determine why I've been unable to get more than 7 minutes of runtime.
I used a heat gun during the manual calibration routine and the thing ran (at full load according to the led meter) for over 22 minutes before the UPS shutdown and all lights were off. I plugged the unit in and let charge before I plugged in load. With all of my equipment up and running at full tilt (Virus scans, scan disk, CPU@100%, and file copies to and from NAS etc.) I run no more than 27% load according to APCBE.
I've seen a couple of threads that mentioned something similar but I didn't get a definitive conclusion. I believe my batteries are good as the manual cal ran about as long as I would have expected with the load I used. Any advice given would be greatly appreciated.

Chris,
If the 2200 is beige, call into Tech Support. Ask for a calibration key, or have them walk you through manually re-calibrating the UPS.

How did you calibrate, through the software or forced?
If you have the SU2200NET, you want to use about 750W resistive load, SUA2200 about 1kW resistive load.
Charge for 16 hours, then disable alarm in PowerChute.
Kill power to UPS with a powerstrip or at the panel, but don't unplug it, so neutral/ground remains connected.
Let the load run on battery until it completely shuts off. Try to time this if you can.
Charge 16 hours.
Now, while on-line, connect the same loads and check estimated runtime in PowerChute. It should be fairly close to the estimated runtime.

I just got off the phone with support. Great experience actually. Ran through the Hyperterminal bit and set the new hex constant and all is well. Thanks again.
