Hi All
I have recently installed a Smart UPS 2200 LCD. It was purchased to support 5 servers and is at a load around 50%. However i cannot work out how to get it to shutdown the other 4 servers, should the power fail. I have installed Powerchute Bussiness edition, Agent, Server and Console on the server thats its connected to via the USB cable but dont know how to configure the agents on the other servers to connect to the Powerchute Server, if this is at all possible.
Is there another software package to download to do this and is there a cost to it?
Thanks
Steve

here is a good resource post on how to get this done -> http://forums.apc.com/spaces/7/ups-management-devices-powerchute-software/forums/general/4961/powerc...
take a look there and let us know if you have any other additional questions but you will need to change your approach. for your particular model of UPS (Assuming SMT2200 or SMX2200 since you said it has an LCD), you're going to need to look into the PowerChute Network Shutdown and Network Management Card option and do this via the network.
unfortunately the interface expander options via serial (or USB) aren't compatible with these newer units. plus, using a network management card works a lot better.
