Got a Smart-UPS 2200 (SMT2200R2X658) I purchased off Newegg refurbished.
I have the UPS in my 32U cabinet in a room that's around 68F.
I purchased a management card and noticed my battery temp reading is 58.9°C, I checked the main display and it shows the same. My racks temp sensor below the exhaust fans is reading 21F, which is around the 68-70F ambient room temp. I felt the air coming out the back below the management card and its cool, I touched the top of the UPS and its cold.
If the batteries were really 140F I would think the top of the UPS wouldn't be cold. Anything I should try?

Show me the following logs from the NMC: Data, Event, UPS. Remove the battery cartridge and measure the outside temperature of the housing from multiple sides and report back the results.
Open up the case and visually & physically inspect every cell. Assuming the internal sensor isn’t faulty you’ll probably find one or more cells bulging, warping, venting.
Take a photo of all the cells along with the production sticker vs what the system indicates is the battery installation date and report back.

Here are the 3 logs. I was eventually going to ask NationalGrid about the input spikes, some of them were 130-132vAC input.
I will have to wait till Wednesday for me to pull the cartridge and take temps with my FLIR, I have a webserver I will need to schedule downtime on.
While I will have it apart, does SE have a ohm/temp table somewhere for the sensors? That, or a parts list.
Thanks!

I did pull the cartridge out real quick and pulled the top cover, everything was at 70F and looked ok visually. I used my thermal camera inside the cartridge slot and saw no high temperature, the sensor in the back looks ok and is still ziptied in place.
I will have to pull the cartridge back out tomorrow for the production sticker. The battery installation date was May last year as I got the UPS and cartridge in 2 separate shipments, so I had entered in the battery install date when I put it in the cabinet.

When you take a picture of the battery production sticker. Leave the cartridge out for about 30 minutes and than show me the event, data logs.
My expectations is the internal temperature will drop but would like to see if it mimics the ambient room temperature at some point.
I would take a small fan and place it in front of the opening to speed up the cooling process.
If after 30 minutes the internal temperature is still above the room’s ambient temperature than the sensor may very well be defective.
I would recommend you take the top cover off the unit to visually inspect the entire compartment is clean and free of any debris. Take the thermal camera and validate no single component is faulty or beginning to fail.
Based on the information you provided the unit is 11 years old. The useful service life of the system is approximately 7-10 years as such expect component failure some where.
