Hi All,
I know this has been posted on more than one occasion but I'm still a little confused on the best way to setup server and ups shutdown on power failure.
The UPS reports as having 40 minutes runtime, I would like to setup the UPS to shutdown the server gracefully with 10 minutes runtime left, I want to give the server 5 minutes to complete a correct windows shutdown.
Currently I have "Runtime on Battery Threshold" set to 30 minutes and "Initiate Shutdown" selected, however I would prefer to use runtime remaining as the deciding factor in shutdown as the runtime could change depending on other server states. To do this do I use Protected System / Shutdown Settings? If so,
What would I set for:
Time Required for Shutdown Sequence
Low Battery Signal
OS Shutdown Delay
Many Thanks in Advance

Matt,
In this situation, I would set the following:
Low Battery Signal: 10 Minutes
OS Shutdown Delay: 7 Minutes
I would set the Shutdown delay a little longer then the amount of time it takes for the OS to shutdown in case it takes a little longer. You need not worry about the Time Required For Shutdown Sequence setting if there is no user defined command file is configured.
let us know if you have any question.
