Smart UPS 1000VA 120 V LED says no ac power
This has happened twice in three days. Everything is fine, then it goes off ac power. The log says
6/16/13 | 00:32:57 | Power Failed |
6/16/13 | 00:32:55 | Online (Green Mode) - Exited |
The ON BAT indicator is on and it's growling.
This is what the data log shows for the moment it went off:
6/16/13 | 00:32:35 | 129.6 | 129.6 | 27.0 | 100 | 60.0 | 60.0 | 13.6 | 35.5 |
and from the same time 24 hours earlier, when it didn't quit.
6/15/13 | 00:32:35 | 125.2 | 125.2 | 27.0 | 100 | 60.0 | 60.02 | 10.4 | 36.0 |
The power hasn't failed! I'm seeing 70 minutes of run time when it's working so I'm not overloading it. One HP PC, LED monitor, cable modem.
Last time it happened two days ago I let it sit overnight and when I turned it on in the morning the battery had charged and it started. Ran until tonight when the above happened. So it wasn't the breaker because I didn't even look for the breaker until tonight.
Here's the Event Log from the last time it quit
6/13/13 | 17:23:20 | Power Failed |
6/13/13 | 17:23:20 | Online (Green Mode) - Exited |
and the data log for the same time:
6/13/13 | 17:22:45 | 129.6 | 129.6 | 27.0 | 100 | 60.0 | 60.0 | 20.1 | 36.0 |
The load was at a whopping 20% then because I was watching a Netflix movie.
The white part of the breaker is sticking out about 1/8 inch, doesn't look popped, and why would it pop?
Disconnected all loads (had to to get online!), reset sensitivity to minimum per instructions, turned UPS back on with no load, but the display shows ON BAT.
I can't have this continuing with summer power outages coming. The unit was bought new in January 2013.
Okay, just turned it on again and after a couple of seconds the ON BAT light came on. GRRRRRRRRRR

The transfer voltage was set to 130 V. I changed it to 136 and will see what happens. Thanks.

It seems like when the voltage is outside of the voltage transfer range is when it is going to battery. It is also logging it as power failed (which I know to you means 0 volts but to the UPS it means a power problem in general).
I would check your voltage transfer range configuration on the UPS and I bet you'll find that it is configured to switch to battery when it goes higher than 127 volts or similar. This is what I am thinking currently based on that data log info.
(FYI there was another thread @ http://forums.apc.com/thread/14341 that I locked to keep one single thread)

So did changing the voltage fix the issue? I am having the same problem with my SMT-1000.
