Hi,
I ordered 2 Smart-UPS 1000 some weeks ago for some refugee project. But until now I had no net there, so I couldn't access the server via SSH and such.
Anyways, I installed the package today on the Ubuntu 16.04 server and changed the settings in order to accepting the USB cable as UPSTYPE.
But then I wanted to perform a selftest but nope, I will get following message
I don't know how to run a self test on your UPS
or your UPS does not support self test.
Did I miss something or does the UPS have no selftest? I am pretty sure, that some cheaper UPS from you have such option but this one doesnt
Regards

Hi,
The information you provided on 19 July shows there is comm loss between APCUPSD and the Smart-UPS. That needs to be fixed for the software to run a self-test.
Side note: I looked at the APCUPSD User's Guide and did not see how to run a self-test via the app and when connecting to SMT Smart-UPS via USB the data points APCUPSD presents are limited.
In this screenshot APCUPSD is connected to a Smart-UPS SMX via USB (I do not have a SMT available at the moment but he SMX is very similar to the SMT).
In this screenshot APCUPSD is connected to the same SMX but this time there is a AP9620 card installed in the SMX and the USB cable is attached to the card.
Depending on the firmware on the SMT1000RM2U we do offer Modbus comm using APCUPSD and USB. See Kbase FA175911

Peter,
What is the exact model number of the Smart-UPS?
You will find the information on the bar code sticker on the back of the unit.
Any Smart-UPS that has a USB connection by default will run a self-test on start-up and every 14 days there after unless programmed not to.

I will check it, when I visit the refugeehouse, so I hope on this weekend...

Yes, I know that since the Smart-UPS SUA750RMI1U I use for another house has such options in the SSH shell, and I can run the selftests whenever I want via the shell
Regards
PS:
I guess there's some other problem:
