We have a couple of smart UPSes with network management card 2 installed (model AP9631). UPS models are:
* APC Smart-UPS RT 10000VA 230V (SURT10000RMXLI)
* APC Smart-UPS RT 15kVA RM 230V (SURT15KRMXLI)
We're upgraded firmware to the latest available version 6.21. After this SNMP response become very slow, about an one item in second in response to the following query:
snmpwalk -v1 -c public up_addr .1.3.6.1.4.1.318
Normally this query gives about a 10-20 values per second. So I consider there is is bug in the firmware.
Because of such a slow SNMP response software like nut doesn't work properly: it loses communication with the ups, reconnects, loses again etc...
I've downgraded firmware to version 5.17 and snmp response normalized.

Yeah, looks like ping times also raised from 1-2 ms to 50-60 ms. SNMP: it doesn't matter whether we're walking through all tree or getting part of it or even getting only one value. All replies are slowed down.
Interesting that this issue affected only mentioned above models. We're also upgraded two another UPS models and they are doesn't show any performance issues:
APC Smart-UPS 3000VA USB & Serial RM 2U 230V (SUA3000RMI2U)
APC Smart-UPS RT 3000VA RM 230V (SURTD3000RMXLI)

Did you compare the quantity of values that you receive? Those firmware versions are very different and I imagine v6.2.1 will give you more values/responses and may take longer to provide them all.
Though, I don't have these UPS models in North America to try. I would suggest that if the issue is not likely related to the sheer volume of responses these models can provide now in v6.2.1 (in your opinion), that you contact your local tech support team and have them see if they can replicate the issue in a similar environment since they'll have those UPS models available locally.
I am not aware of any issues revolving around SNMP response time on v6 firmware for any UPS model.

I forgot to ask - beyond SNMP, are other interfaces slower on v6? Are the ping times high? I have seen a few customers that have high latency in certain environments on v6 firmware which we are in the midst of debugging why but it affects all interfaces, not just SNMP. Going back to v5 firmware resolves it for now while we try to figure out why this is.

It seems slow to me... walking upsIdent in v620 takes a good 5 seconds, while in v515 it takes less than a second.
