Shutdown script usage
Greetings,
I'm upgrading pcns.exe from v2.2.1 to v3.0.1 and have found shutdown scripts that reference two .dll's. SHUTDOWNSQL.dll and SHUTDOWNIIS.dll. Are these .dll's still valid in v3.0.1? Should I eliminate the script altogether and stick with the default config created by PowerChute configuration? The server runs MS SQL Server 2008 and IIS.
Thank you in advance,
Steve

Hi,
If you are putting the path plus the comment into PCNS the script will not run. What you should do is write a script and name it kickoff.bat In PCNS point to this bat file. In kickoff.bat the text would be C:\script\script.bat confirm Kickoff.bat will run script.bat with the comment.

We believe it should work but we will have to verify.
I found some instructions in this knowledge base and in the end of the article, it refers to getting them to work with versions 2.0 and later. You could at least try it with 3.0.1..

Ok, just got my answer:
We removed all of these dlls in PCNS 3.0.0 and they are not supported with PCNS 3.0.1 - they may still work but they have not been tested.

Hello, sorry to re-open this discussion but I'm having a similar issue...let me explain it: I have a scrip (cmd batch file) which needs an argument to be launched, so If you want to run it manually it is not possible just giving double click in the .cmd file,so you need to write a parameter, for example "c:\script\script.bat confirm"
However if I put this full path in "Full path of the command line" doesn't work. If I've tried to put the path into quotes and the parameter out but with the same behaviour...Anyone could give me a hint for that????
Thanks a lot for the support!!!
