Shutdown client & Server confused
I have recently installed a Smart UPS 5000 to protect a number of servers, i am using the LAN client to shutdown each of the servers on power fails, All is installed and working fine. I am however a little confused about one part.
You cannot install the powerchute server if a client is installed, but if you install the server on one, then there does not seem to be an event configuratio to shutdown the machine running the server, it seems logical to have the server installed to handle everything from one machine, but it escapes me how this is supposed to be done.
I must say though I have found APC's documentation very lacking and their software very buggy. For such an expensive piece of kit to be supplied with ancient versions of CD's that do not work, and having to search for much newer ones that do work has been very frustrating and time consuming.
