hmm there was something on here that someone posted but i cant find it. there is a shutdown command that you can run through command line with different options

see my attachment above since the forum doesnt like me pasting in something and interprets it incorrectly.

then i think KMP's article may help you with the syntax to make sure it runs.

Richard,

I'm not sure which OS you're using, but here's a K-Base that outlines it for Windows:

http://nam-en.apc.com/cgi-bin/nam_en.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=1784

Keep in mind that APC does provide the means for scripts, however, does not support them due to the complexity that comes thousands upon thousands of scripts being possible.

Sorry, distinct lack of info, Win2003 Server R2 SP2 has the Server and Console (7.0.4) installed & is connected to the UPS. Win 2003 SBS SP2 is the second server I am trying to shutdown.

The KB only seemed to indicate how to resolve problems with scripts rather than some examples or at least guidelines on writing them. I am sure it is not to complex and am willing to give it a go, fully accept the difficulties of supporting the almost infinite number of possible variations.

Anyone out there written a script to get a second server to shutdown in a timed and graceful manner and would like to share it with me, with usual disclaimers? 😉
