Yes, they are different.

SYMIM5 works in all [Symmetra LX|http://www.apcmedia.com/resource/images/500/Front_Left/9A8319EE-5056-9170-D3BB5B632E133440_pr.jpg|Image of LX].

SYMIM2 works in the original [Symmetra Power Array|http://www.apcmedia.com/resource/images/500/Front_Left/SY16Kfl.jpg|Image of Original Symmetra].

about about the SYMIM3. Is that for the 6kVA and 12 kVA "small" Symmetras?

The SYMIM3 is for either the 2 - 6 or 4 -12 rack mount Symmetra's.
